Background

Established in 2020, Podium is a multi-brand store and e-commerce site dedicated to endurance sports. With expertise in importing and distributing sports brands, Podium has become a leader for fitness enthusiasts and professional athletes.

During this project, I rethought and redesigned Podium's website. By researching and analyzing various online shopping platforms, particularly in the sports sector, I identified key areas to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Problem statement

There are significant challenges associated with the current website's user experience and brand alignment.

With its mix of design elements and styles, the store's identity is not conveyed effectively, and sales are not driven by it.

Furthermore, the current templated structure limited the ability to customize extensively, especially when it came to ensuring optimal mobile responsiveness.

As well as confusing navigation, inadequate search functionality, and an overload of information, users are distracted from their shopping goals.

So I pushed to create a new visually stunning and user-friendly interface that remove any obstacles that may hinder customers from completing their purchases.

Information architecture

The architecture of the website is defined based on client requirements. It allows me to approve my solution with the customer before starting the design of the actual pages.

Home screen

I focused on simplifying the category structure by reframing sections, narrowing down options to prevent user overwhelm, and enhancing hover functionality to deliver a smoother and more intuitive navigation experience.

Engaging & Intuitive shopping

I designed a product listing page featuring high-quality images and hover effects to reveal alternate views or details. Key elements are prominently displayed, and a quick-view feature allows easy access to additional product information.

Boosting user engagement

As part of the redesign process, I developed a distinctive and visually cohesive brand identity that reflects Podium's essence. I aimed to capture the target audience's attention, drive growth, and build stronger recognition through thoughtful and appealing design choices.

To enhance usability, I designed a clean and straightforward layout with clear calls-to-action and flexible options. I prioritized essential details, making the navigation efficient and helping users engage with the content more seamlessly.

Improving the look and feel

I created a cohesive and engaging interface that aligns with the brand's colors, typography, and imagery. I made effective use of whitespace to reduce visual clutter and adopted a clear, friendly tone that reflects the essence of the store.

Mobile Optimization

Designing for responsive usability

To optimize for mobile, I implemented flexible layouts and scalable images to ensure seamless adaptation across various screen sizes. I simplified navigation and added sticky elements for easy access, while keeping readability with well-chosen fonts, bold colors, and a clear hierarchy.
